In 2013 EEC developed and delivered a two-tiered leadership program for this client.
Program 1 – Barrick Gold Rising Leaders Program
This program has been designed for Barrick Gold’s Rising Leaders or Emerging Technical Experts and is based on EEC’s Management Masterclass Program. The program guides participants to an elevated perspective on their management situations and practices. It raises their awareness of specific, practical ways to maximise the leadership potential within their management roles.
Covering such topics as strategy, decision making, financial literacy, performance management, organisational systems, communication, influence and negotiation. The Learning Application Proposal developed by participants over the course of the program helped them to embed the learnings generated throughout the modules and provide immediate benefit back into their workplaces.
Program 2 – Barrick Gold High Potential Leaders
This program has been designed for High Potential Future Leaders or High Potential Technical Experts and is based on EEC’s Transitions program. This program deals with the realities of management, offers pragmatic insight into the challenges managers face and focuses on the key strategic drivers of organisational effectiveness. Grounded in both research and experience, the program aims to cut through the complexity and ‘noise’ of the managerial experience and enable participants to take stock, reflect and move forward with purpose and clarity.
The Transitions program encourages participants to examine their organisational environment, stakeholders, and systems – operational, functional and behavioural – and develops their capacity to understand that context, make informed decisions, and positively influence organisational outcomes. Rather than offering a set of generic prescriptions, the program enables participants to consider alternatives, formulate context-sensitive approaches, and determine how they will be executed.
